In the US, the Chevrolet brand brings to mind trucks, SUVs and the Corvette. Elsewhere in the world the Chevrolet lineup consists of a number of Korean-built models. One model in common is the entry-level, sub-compact, Chevrolet Aveo. The Aveo similar in size to its principal competitors, the Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent.

 CHEVROLET AVEO LINEUP

The 2010 Chevrolet Aveo lineup comes in two guises a sedan named simply Aveo and a 4 door hatchback named Aveo5. Both models are equipped with the same engine, transmissions, and chassis components.

The engine, a 1.6 liter, is designed more for fuel efficiency than speed or reliability. 

The 1.6 engine is capable of producing 103-horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque, but its acceleration is substantially slowed by the five-speed manual transmission, although a four speed automatic is optional but doesn't solve the problem. Aveo was designed to be a city car with fuel efficiency in mind, and although most review's don't' agree, EPA estimates mileage for the pair is 27/35 mpg (city/highway) on models equipped with a five-speed manual transmission and 25/34 mpg for those with a four-speed automatic.

CHEVROLET INTERIORS 

            

               The interioris almost acceptable with it's grained plastics and chrome accents, and has plenty of headroom and outward visibility, but suffers some legroom issues. Behind the chrome and grained plastic accents hide some major issues like the headliner that looks like cardboard, poor-fitting panels and flimsy switchgear. Some other interior design problems include unlighted controls, small radio buttons with no tuning knob and the horn which is very difficult to activate in case of emergency. As a fun fact an input jack is installed on the radio and an optional CD/MP3 player sound system with 6 speakers is available.
